Principal's Message

Principal

August 2025

Dear Broadview Families,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are excited to embark on another year of learning and growth, and we take great pride in our commitment to making Broadview Elementary one of the premier educational institutions in Broward County. With your continued support and partnership, we are confident that we will excel in our core mission of teaching and learning.

Ensuring campus security remains our top priority. We kindly ask that you present your identification at the main gate and state the purpose of your visit. Upon entering the campus, please park in the designated spaces and be prepared to show your ID again at our single point of entry after ringing the doorbell. For the safety of all our students, we request that you refrain from using your cell phone while in the school zone.

School will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. Arriving late can cause students to miss critical morning instruction and disrupt classroom activities. To ensure proper supervision, please do not drop off students before 7:15 AM, as there will be no staff available. Breakfast will be available from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM for your convenience.

Please note that due to changes in the District Food Service Program funding, students will no longer receive free lunch. However, as a courtesy, all students will enjoy complimentary lunch for the first 30 days of the school year. Beginning Tuesday, September 23, 2025, students will be required to pay for lunch based on their meal eligibility status. Students without an eligibility status will need to pay until a Meal Benefits Application is processed. The Food and Nutrition Services Department will begin accepting online Meal Benefits Applications for the 2025-2026 school year on Monday, July 14, 2025, at www.myschoolapps.com. All students will continue to receive breakfast at no cost under the Universal Free Breakfast Program.

It is essential to ensure that your personal contact information (phone number, address, email) is up to date on our system. This information is critical for reaching you in case of an emergency, and important messages will be communicated through our Parent Link and email systems.

First-day packets containing important documents will be sent home. We kindly ask that you complete these forms and return them to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

Last year, we introduced FOCUS as our primary platform for accessing your child's information, including grades, interim reports, report cards, and other communications. If you haven’t set up your account yet, please do so to stay informed. More information about FOCUS can be found at www.browardschools.com/focus.

As the school year progresses, maintaining communication with your child’s teacher regarding their academic progress is crucial.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Please feel free to reach out if you need any support.

 Proud to be your Principal,

Dr. Josh Kisten
